NORMI Re-Certification Process
Re-certification is a process by which NORMI members may have their certifications renewed every year after having met the re-certification process. 20 CEUs are required during the Annual Renewal Period and may not be moved forward to a new period. Re-certification forms are available through the member section to ACTIVE members only.
Here are the basis elements of re-certification:
· ALL certifications expire on an annual basis as of February 1 and must be renewed to continue in “certified” status.
· Certifications that are not renewed will be moved to “qualified” status
· Because certifications are given to the individual, each individual must re-certify regardless of membership status, whether individual or company.
· Because certifications are given to the individual, when the individual meets the re-certification criteria for a single certification, ALL certifications in that individuals name are renewed automatically.
Here are the criteria for re-certification:
· 1 CEU for each of 48 CEU Qualifying Opportunities in the Talking Studio (form will be offered ONLINE at the qualifying class for the Member to complete)
· 5 CEU for passing a CEU Qualifying Course, listed at www.BestTrainingSchool.com (w/NORMI Logo)
· 10 CEU for attending the annual Training Conference
· Members who come into the organization during the Renewal Period will be required to meet 10 CEUs prior to the renewal date, 5 CEUs of which will be credited for their first class.
Here is the process for re-certification:
· Click on the banner/icon in the ACTIVE Member section of the website marked Record Re-certification Credits,
· The re-certification form is pre-populated from the NORMI database with pedigree information including the NORMI member number,
· The Member completes the “Request Credit” (drop-down) block indicating the credits requested,
· The Member attaches such documentation as may be needed (additional attendance certificate, receipt, etc.), using one of the two PDF upload fields,
· The Member clicks “SUBMIT” and the record is sent to NORMI and the Member as a receipt.
· The Member should file all documentation for re-certification for future reference and verification.
Here is the re-certification process for those who miss the 02/2009 deadline and whose certifications subsequently expire:
Those NORMI members who allow their certifications to expire on 02/2009 will be required to take a refresher course for each expired certification and re-certifying by meeting the then existing certification requirements for that certification. For a limited time following expiration, the prevailing applicable certification fee will be waived.
EXCEPTIONS:
· CEU Waiver may be provided under special circumstance through the NORMI Compliance & Standards Division Review
· Charter NORMI Members may re-certify with the following criteria
o Either, attend the NORMI Training Conference 2009, or
o Collect 4 CEU from Qualifying Opportunities in the Talking Studio, or
o Take and add a Certification Course to your existing credentials before 01/01/09
Our goal is to create a highly-qualified and certified team of professionals with whom the public will feel comfortable and confident that the services they are purchasing are of value.
