CERTIFICATES of SANITIZATION
and
WARRANTY PROGRAM

PROTOCOL #1—LIGHT MOLD REMOVAL PROTOCOL

 

STEP 1.   PRE-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR

The CMI or CMR will perform Pre-screening and determine the Project’s Protocol then submit a request for the project to qualify for a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION.

 

STEP 2.   APPLICATION OF Anti-Microbial

         Application of Anti-Microbial for mold removal will be done only by a NORMI certified CMI, CMR, or NTP.  The HVAC system must be cleaned.

 

STEP 3.   APPLICATION OF APPROVED PROTECTANT  

Application of Approved Protectant will be applied to all surfaces including the HVAC system.

 

STEP 4.   POST-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR

The CMI or CMR will perform the Post-screening.  Submit the Application for CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION including all lab reports and photos to NORMI by e-mail or fax. 

 

STEP 5.   NORMI CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION ISSUED  

After receiving the above data NORMI will issue a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION to the building owner providing it approves of the Project Coordinator’s Final Protocol Report.

PROTOCOL #2—HEAVY MOLD REMOVAL PROTOCOL

 

STEP 1.   PRE-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR 

The CMI or CMR will perform Pre-screening and determine the project’s Protocol then submit a request for the project to qualify for a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION.

 

STEP 2.   REMOVAL OF MOLD  

Mold removal or remediation will be done by a NORMI Certified CMR.  Application of NORMI Approved Enzyme Cleaner for mold removal will be done only by a NORMI certified CMI, CMR, or NTP.  The HVAC system will be cleaned if necessary.

 

STEP 3.   APPLICATION OF APPROVED PROTECTANT

Application of NORMI Approved Protectant will be applied to all surfaces including the HVAC system. 

 

STEP 4.  POST-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR

The CMI or CMR will perform the Post-screening.  Submit the Application for CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION including all lab reports and photos to NORMI by e-mail or fax. 

 

STEP 5.   NORMI CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION ISSUED

 After receiving the above data NORMI will issue a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION to the building owner providing it approves of the Project Coordinator’s Final Protocol Report.

PROTOCOL #3—STANDARD RESIDENTIAL PROTOCOL

 

STEP 1.   PRE-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR 

The CMI or CMR will perform Pre-screening and determine the project’s Protocol then submit a request for the project to qualify for a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION.

 

STEP 2.   GENERAL and HVAC CLEANING  

Sanitization of HVAC will be done by a NORMI Certified CMI or CMR.  The HVAC system will be cleaned by whatever method may be necessary depending on the level of contamination.

 

STEP 3.   APPLICATION OF APPROVED ANTI-MICROBIAL AND PROTECTANT

Application of Approved Protectant will be applied to all surface touchpoint (as needed) and fogging is required.  

 

STEP 4.  POST-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR

The CMI or CMR will perform the Post-screening.  Submit the Application for CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION including all lab reports to NORMI by e-mail or fax. 

 

STEP 5.   NORMI CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION ISSUED

 After receiving the above data NORMI will issue a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION to the homeowner providing it approves of the Project Coordinator’s Final Protocol Report.

PROTOCOL #4—NEW CONSTRUCTION PROTOCOL

 

STEP 1.   PRE-SCREENING

         The CMI or CMR will perform Pre-screening and determine the level of contamination in the building, then submit a request for the project to qualify for a CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION.

 

STEP 2.   DRY-IN STAGE 

In preparation for the CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION, the process must begin at dry-in stage AFTER windows and doors are installed but BEFORE drywall is installed.

 

STEP 3.   APPLICATION OF APPROVED PROTECTANT

Application of Approved Protectant will be applied to all surfaces including the HVAC system. 

 

STEP 4.  POST-SCREENING BY NORMI CMI OR CMR

The CMI or CMR will perform the Post-screening.  Submit the Application for CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION including all lab reports and photos to NORMI by e-mail or fax. 

 

STEP 5.   NORMI CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION ISSUED

 After receiving the above data NORMI will issue a CERTIFICATE OF SANITIZATION to the building owner providing it approves of the Project Coordinator’s Final Protocol Report.

PROTOCOL #5—COMMERCIAL PROTOCOL

 

This protocol is currently under review and evaluation.  When completed it will provide a basis CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION protocol for commercial environments like convenience stores, grocery stores, and other commercial application.

PROTOCOL #6—Certificate of Sanitization PLUS (for WARRANTY) PROTOCOL


 

This protocol is ADDED to any of the above protocols to make is a PLUS in preparation for the ongoing WARRANTY program. 

STEP 1. SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE EVALUATION

  • A NORMI Scheduled Maintenance Evaluation Interview must be performed to identify Priority 1-4 Touchpoints in the environment.  ATP Luminometer screening must be done on at least SIX Priority 1 Touchpoints and identified on the Evaluation Interview form.  This form will be provided to NORMI for review prior to the issuing of a Warranty.

STEP 2.   HVAC SERVICE REQUIRED

  • An evaluation of the HVAC system by an independent HVAC contractor must be completed prior to the issuance of a Warranty and a SERVICE AGREEMENT must be established with that HVAC contractor, a copy which should be shown to the Project Coordinator.
  • An approved IAQ Solution must be included in the HVAC system, approved by NORMI.

    STEP 3.  SUPPLEMENTAL, IF NOT ALREADY DONE

·         After the building finishes have been completed and the building has been thoroughly cleaned of construction debris, just prior to occupancy, all Priority Touchpoints 1 and 2 should be sprayed with a coating of NORMI Approved Protectant.

  • All tile grout, floor tile and wall tile, should be sprayed with a coating of NORMI Approved Anti-Microbial.
  • Air purification products, as approved by NORMI, should be in place and fully functional.

STEP 4.  PRODUCTS PROVIDED TO HOMEOWNER (one package for each air conditioning zone)

  • 1 Duo-Pack of Microbloc MMR/DSP (Mold/Mildew Remover and Durable Surface Protectant) 
  • 1 Gallon of of Microbloc DC (Deodorizing Cleaner)
    1 NORMI Approved Monitoring System

STEP 5. NORMI Six-month WARRANTY ISSUED

  • NORMI will review the Application for compliance with its WARRANTY PROTOCOL and issue a temporary (six months) warranty.
  • The owner will have the option to renew the warranty for an additional three years (with annual compliance review).

WARRANTY PROTOCOL

The NORMI Warranty Program is designed to follow the Warranty Protocol that has been added to any CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION.  The Warranty is a three-year renewable program based on an annual compliance review.

 

Details of WARRANTY PROGRAM

 

STAGE ONE—CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION PLUS ($150)

This warranty is based on the issuance of a CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION PLUS that gives the homeowner the first six months warranty.  The additional steps required for the CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION PLUS can be added to any of the NORMI Protocols for a CERTIFICATE of SANITIZATION.  In all cases, NORMI will have the right to require more than the printed requirements should the condition of the building require such and NORMI reserves the right to refuse issuance even when all terms of the warranty have been met.

 

 

STAGE TWO—ANNUAL COMPLIANCE REVIEW (NORMI Dispatches Certified Service Technician)

When the warranty begins, a label will be placed on the water heater or HVAC system evidencing the beginning of the warranty and the label will be good for one full year from the start date.  In addition, a clear box housing the Air Monitor will be placed next to the Thermostat evidencing the 36 month warranty.

 

  • Schedule Maintenance Evaluation reviewed
  • ATP Screening report forwarded to NORMI and additional application of Approved Protectant to Touchpoints Priority 1 and 2 where necessary.  Download Air Monitor information for evaluation to determine the advisability of continuance. 
  • Verify HVAC Service Contract compliance
  • Replenish supplies of Cleaners, Anti-Microbials, Disinfectants, and Protectant
  • Visually inspect IAQ Solutions
  • Re-educate on Sanitization Protocol and interview for compliance.
  • Provide new dated label for the water heater or HVAC system

 

STAGE THREE—36 MONTH RENEWAL

 

This process extends the warranty for an additional 36 months with the same annual compliance review.  A new medallion is provided to replace the old.

 

  • Fog the building with NORMI Approved Protectants according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Replace UV, filters, ozone plates, or whatever changeable parts need replacing on the IAQ solution.
  • Schedule Maintenance Evaluation reviewed
  • ATP Screening report forwarded to NORMI and additional application of Approved Protectant to Touchpoints Priority 1 and 2 where necessary. Download Air Monitor information for evaluation to determine the advisability of continuance.
