We do not want anyone trained PSP to misunderstand the purpose of this PSP Self-Assessment program.  We have had those who expressed a concern like this "if I am assessing a 3000 sqft home, there is NO WAY I can do that for $100...I want to charge more to cover my time."  This expresses a fundamental misunderstanding in the PSP program and the concept of homeowner SELF-ASSESSMENT that supports it.  So...

The fees are NOT-negotiable and if misused (you decide to charge the customer more than the recommended prices and we learn of it) we will pull the program back as an option for you.  We are sorry but you must understand that the purity of the program is at stake and we cannot allow a “loose cannon” approach to this specific program—TOO MUCH AT STAKE (for instance, the State Attorney of your state could charge you with “bait and switch” because you took an advertised price on multiple websites and upcharged the customer—only one such complaint could put you out of business for good).  This program is IN NO WAY suppose to compete with an Industrial Hygenist or even CMI training.  It is a SELF-ASSESSMENT program only. 

We are really glad you contacted us about this because it gives us an opportunity to make it clear.  Here are your choices:

     1)  OPTION ONE—Use the PSP program as designed. It is a SELF-ASSESSMENT program which means you ARE NOT the one who is to do the assessment. The CUSTOMER does the assessment and you should only “assist” which means you shouldn’t be in the house (even a HUGE HOUSE) for more than 20-30 minutes to simply explain the program to them. THEY are doing the work and there is no reason for you to be in ANY house for 2-3 hours.

2) OPTION TWO—If the customer wants YOU do to an assessment for them, you can charge whatever you like as a Certified Mold Inspector, NOT a PSP. You always have the option to provide your services as a CMI and charge the amount of money it will take to do a full assessment. 

So, to simplify, the PSP is a DO-IT-YOURSELF program for residences ONLY, the CMI is a service YOU PROVIDE at going rates!!
