NORMI is a certifying organization that gives credit to trainings provided by various companies and/or organizations. Because the mold industry operates under the general heading of "Construction", NORMI provides training for many of the construction fields that require more advanced and detailed training in Workplace Safety along with effective and relevant Continuing Education

THE NORMI™ MOLD TRAINING PROGRAM

Mold Classes and the schedule of classes both ONLINE and ONSITE are listed at the Best Training School Website but the entry level ONSITE training includes the following certifications:

NORMI Certified IAQ/Mold Inspector (CMI)
The Best Training School Certified IAQ/Mold Inspector (CMI) will understand how to differentiate between "Sanitization" and "Remediation" techniques so the consumer can be directed toward the proper solution to their Indoor Air Quality issues. When sanitization is preferred, the inspector may, at his discretion, offer solutions to avoid the more costly remediation process. (8 hours course)

NORMI Certified Mold Assessor (CMA)
Too often in today's litigious environment, consumers are overly cautious about the presence of mold in their home or the home they are trying to purchase. Apart from the "hysteria", this advance CMI course is designed to give a common sense approach and solution to problems that are not, in most cases, life-threatening and are, in all cases, manageable with effective, and inexpensive, sanitization techniques. (16 hour course)

NORMI Certified Mold Remediator (CMR)
Only when the "renovation" process is done correctly can the consumer be sure that, not only has the problem been eliminated but, proper construction techniques have been implemented to reduce the chances of the mold returning. (24 hour course)

This advanced training program supplements training and certifications the member currently holds in an effort to promote continuing education as a trained professional.

The advanced certifications provided by NORMI™ underscore the need for ongoing education in these specific disciplines and highlight our desire to provide the public with a choice. The certifications we provide in each of these categories require several hours of training and include:

NORMI™ CERTIFIED - This designation evidences the applicant has completed 6 hours of specific training completed in his area of expertise.

NORMI™ Certified ADVANCED - This designation demonstrates the applicant has completed 16 hours of training completed in his specific discipline.

NORMI™ Certified MASTER - This is currently the highest level of certification for any category and evidences 36 hours of training completed in his specific discipline.

Advanced Certifications are offered to all Accredited and Affiliate Members through the ACTIVE Member section of NORMI's website.
